Dalai Lama returns to McLeod Ganj after 5 states’ India tour

IMAGEIMAGE , January 16: The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama returned here after completing teachings, lectures and pilgrimage in New Delhi, Bangalore, Bylakupee Tibetan settlement, Cimbatore, Bhandara Tibetan settlement, Nagpur and Raipur.

The Tibetan leader visited the Bishop Cotton HIgh School and Christ University where he delivered lectures on “Bounds of Ethics in a Globalized World” . He gave a ten day teachings on Lamrim. The Tibetan leader then travelled to Coimbatore where he participated in Swami Vivekananda Commemorations.

The 1989 Nobel Peace Laureate then headed to Bhandara Tibetan settlement where he met the local Tibetan settlers.

His Holiness concluded his tour with a visit to Raipur where he inaugurated the National Seminar on the Philosophy of Nagarjuna at Pt. Ravishankar Shulkla University in Raipur, Chattisgarh on January 13, 2014.

His Holiness was received at the Gaggal airport this afternoon by Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament in exile Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, the Tibetan PM Lobsang Sangay, representatives of the various NGOs here.

At the end of this month, the Tibetan leader will travel to Guwahati in Assam where he will inaugurate the first ever Festival of Tibetan Culture in the city that is often referred to as the gateway to the north eastern states. His Holiness will also visit Shillong where a sizable number of Tibetans live, and give discourse on Tibetan Buddhism.
