DHARAMSHALA, January 14: The Election Commission has set Feb. 17 as the date for the preliminary round of bi-election for the vacant Domed MP’s seat. The final poll will be held on June 9, 2014.

A Tibetan MP from Domey constituency resigned in November last year necessitating bi-election for the seat as there was no one in waiting list of Domey constituency with the required 33% percent of votes cast as per the electoral guidelines.

Geshe Rinzin Choedak and Yangko Gyal were elected last month by the Standing Committee of the Tibetan parliament in exile as the two additional election commissioners for this election.
