DHARAMSHALA, October 20: Chinese authorities have arrested four more Tibetans from Namchu region, Driru County in Nagchu Prefecture for sending out information about Chinese crackdown in Driru over the past weeks.
Lhundup, 19; and Jampa, a 20 year-old nun; were arrested by County officials from Yarding Township on October 15.
Following their arrest, local Tibetans visited the local police station and appealed for their release. However, their current condition and whereabouts remain unknown. Chinese police allege that the two sent information about recent incidents in Driru to “separatists,” a term used by Chinese government for exile Tibetans.
Two days later, Jampa Lekshay, 20; and Kalnam, 25; from Shugding monastery were arrested by Chinese security personnel from Lhasa, capital city of Tibet. They were also arrested for the same reason.
