Dharamsala, September 3 – His Holiness the Dalai Lama will attend ‘the World Peace Fest’ in the Indian city of Pune next month. The Tibetan leader will deliver a lecture on ‘Peace among nations’ during the inauguration of the Happy Thoughts World Peace Festival on 10th of October.
The meeting is organized by Pune-based Tej Gyan Foundation which is championing the cause of world peace through a movement called ‘World Peace, piece by piece’. It is organizing 10 events during the first 10 months of the year throughout the country.
Other speakers at the festival include Magsaysay award winner Kiran Bedi, former CBI special director D R Karthikeyan, computer scientist Vijay Bhatkar ,Symbiosis founder S B Mujumdar and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachhan.
The festival intends to propose 10 solutions for the world and inner peace that the foundation believes in. A book on inner peace titled The Warrior’s Mirror will be released the same day. About one lakh people are expected to attend the festival.
The Tibetan leader will inaugurate the 33rd World Congress of International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF) tomorrow in Cochi, Kerela. About 600 delegates from across the world will attend the event.
