Dharamsala, March 27 – The International Tibet Support Network (ITSN) began a three day meeting of its Asia network here yesterday at Ghangchen Kyishong, the headquarters of the Tibetan exile government. Presiding over as the Chief Guest at the opening session was Tibetan Prime Minister Samdhong Rinpoche and Kesang Yankyi Takla, the minister for information and international relations.
52 participants from 11 countries have converged in Dharamsala for the meeting that is closed to media.
The Tibetan PM briefed the participants on the dialogue process with China and his government’s position. The former academician and the first directly elected PM of the Tibetan government said he will sincerely work towards achieving a meaningful autonomy for the Tibetans through the middle way policy approved by the Tibetan parliament.
The Tibetan PM said his government’s policy has been that it should not influence the various Tibet support groups, which he said were independent of his government.
The Central Tibetan Administration and His Holiness the Dalai Lama will never interfere in the workings and chalking out programmes of the Tibetan support groups, he said, while also expressing his appreciation to the various TSGs for keeping the Tibet movement alive.
