Bangalore, February 17 – Two Tibetans were arrested last Saturday (February 13) for allegedly raping a Tibetan girl in Mcleod Ganj on night of February 12, according to media reports. Kangra District Senior Superintendent of Police, Atul Fulzele has confirmed the arrest to media persons.
The alleged victim is a seventeen year old Tibetan girl who lodged a complaint with the police on the morning of February 13. “On this complaint we have registered a case of rape under section 376 IPC (Indian Penal Code). We have sent the victim of rape for medical examination. We have rounded up both the accused,” Fulzele was quoted by ANI as saying.
According to reports, the girl informed the police that the two youths had invited her for dinner at a restaurant in McLeod Ganj and the two consumed beer there. The girl had told the police that they later took her to a private guesthouse where he and his friend allegedly raped her.
In January this year, two other Tibetans were arrested by police for allegedly raping a German woman, according to the media reports.
