Dharamshala: A galaxy of luminaries and ordinary people, who have devoted their lives to the ideals of justice, freedom and nonviolence, will take part in the centenary celebration of Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘Hind Swaraj or Home Rule’ in New Delhi.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama will join the final day of the event. While Kalon Tripa Samdong Rinpoche will attend the entire session from 19 – 22 November at Hotel Rajhans, Surajkund.
The conference aims at highlighting globally the efficacy and universality of Gandhian vision of swaraj and methods of nonviolence.
The participants will draw an action plan based on the wisdom of Hind Swaraj, and their own experiments with truth to chart a new paradigm for progress that every individual, family and society can follow in order to lessen the violence of different forms and the impending danger of ecological disaster.
They will analyse the relevance of Hind Swaraj in today’s world, and to share their experience and understanding of Gandhi and Hind Swaraj in order to create an effective dialogue and campaign for nonviolence.
The action plan will be presented to His Holiness the Dalai Lama with request to take the leadership of a global movement of nonviolence, justice and peace, according to the New Delhi-based Swaraj Peeth Trust, which is organising the event in collaboration with the Central University of Higher Tibetan Studies, Saranath, Varanasi.
