The Student Body Movement is making their presence felt in the Indian Capital. Some call them the warriors of peace and harmony in face of monstrosity and heinous crimes committed by the Communist Party of China. Other says they are Tibet’s answer to the youth of China who are brainwashed and cocooned in their thoughts with blind faith in their infamous government. Refusing to remain complacent they have taken matters in their own hands. Keeping in mind their youthful initiative they hope to generate awareness among young people urging them to come together in this hour of need. The first ever movement of this dimension, Tibetan students studying in various regions of India including Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Mangalore, Varanasi and others have gathered to express their distress and concern on the ongoing crackdown in Tibet.

Stationed in Delhi for the last ten days or so, the AITCSMM has exploited every means in furthering the Tibetan struggle. Though young,they are not faltered by their vernal disposition. With every inch of determination these young freedom fighters have set in motion a flurry of activities ever since their arrival. Starting with daily programs set forth to meet their targets the students have organized press conferences, workshops, peace marches, prayer sessions, discussions, approached major international bodies, distributed pamphlets at traffic intersections and University areas and have also invited eminent guests and subject experts to speak on the Tibet crisis. Guest speakers and staunch supporters over the days included Former Defense Minister George Fernandez, Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, Gandhian Rajiv Vohra, Actress Nafisa Ali, Dr. Anand Kumar, Kalon Tenpa Tsering and T.D Singh among others.
Keeping in line with their effort, the 11th day of the Movement brought their struggle to the Tibetan Settlement of Majnu Ka Tilla in Delhi today. Students in their trademark white T-shirts reading ‘A New Generation Awakens’ gathered at the Tibetan Day School and presented two skits. Depicting the real life struggle of those in Tibet, living a puppet life in their own land at the mercy of the PLA was portrayed aptly by the characters. The second act was that of the events leading to the March 14 unrest in the Capital of Lhasa where peaceful demonstrators were brutally subdued and incarcerated by the authorities.
