Tickets for the Dalai Lama’s visit to Nottingham have nearly sold out ahead of his five-day run of public talks and teachings.
More than 23,000 tickets have been snapped up at Nottingham Arena.
But young people in schools, colleges and university in Nottingham can enter an Evening Post competition to win the chance to quiz him on stage.
Buddhism’s world leader will appear from May 24 to 28.
Jane Rasch, co-ordinator of the visit for Dharma Network, said she was delighted with the way the event has sold.
She said: “While, as expected, the take-up for the more specialised weekday events is a little steadier, the three sessions of public talks scheduled over the weekend have sold out in good time.”
She also revealed that a further talk – Caring for our World – has been added for the afternoon of Sunday, May 25.
The Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, 72, is the head monk of Tibetan Buddhism.
Nottingham was chosen as his only UK visit this year.
Young Post readers still have time to enter the contest to quiz the Dalai Lama. The authors of the best questions – from the three categories of primary, secondary and further/ higher education – will get the chance to ask them on stage.
Questions must be linked to the theme Caring for Our World: Environmental Awareness and Universal Responsibility. Each entry must be accompanied by a brief paragraph explaining why you would like to be involved in the event.
