Dharamsala, January 3: The Tibetan Parliament in Exile has congratulated the new chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal on his party’s victory in the 2007 state assembly polls, the official website of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile reported.
In a letter dated 31 December, Parliamentary Secretary Mr Ngawang Tsultrim had expressed hope that Himachal Pradesh, under the leadership of Prof Dhumal, will further strengthen “The existing good and cordial relationship between the people of Himachal Pradesh and Tibetan people”.
Mr Dhumal was sworn in as the CM of the Northern Indian state on Sunday for the second time, after BJP swept to Power last Friday, winning 41 seats in a house of 68 members.
Mr Dhumal was administered the oath of office at the historic Ridge Maidan in the state capital, Shimla, by the State’s Governor V S Kokje.
Dharamsala, in the northern Indian state, is the seat of the Dalai Lama led Tibetan Government-in-Exile.
