Belgium, December 10: Tibetan Community, Regional Tibetan youth congress (RTYC) and Chushigangdruk in Belgium celebrated Nobel peace prize day with friendly football match with France Tibetans earlier on Saturday.
As part of the celebration, the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress (RTYC) of Belgium invited a Tibetan football team from France to kick out a friendly inter-Tibetan football tournament.
The celebration event began with friendly football match between Belgium
Tibetan youth team and France Tibetan team in what they called an effort to build a more interactive Tibetan community in Europe.
Two teams, Team A and B from the Belgium Tibetan side played with a Tibetan team from France.
In his inaugural talk, manager of France Tibetan team Mr Karma said, “This is the first
time to organize a football match between Tibetans living in Europe”. Mr Karma also said that he was willing to organize more such football matches to build stronger interactive relations among Tibetans living in all European countries.
RTYC, Belgium, President Mr Karma also revealed his plan to organise similar football
match in 2008 on His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 73rd birthday.
According to RTYC’s Mr Dakpa (media coordinator), the two matches; one between Belgium Team A and France team ended with 2:2 draw, while Belgium Team B beat France team by 4:2.
Impressed by the Belgium Tibetans’ initiative, the Tibetans from France have now invited the Belgium teams to play game in their home ground towards the end of the month.
