Kathmandu, 23 September: The red and blue uniform of the Tibetan National Football Association has been honored and displayed alongside football uniforms of Nepal and top football clubs of the country at the Museum of Football Nepal in Balkhu, Kathmandu, probably the one and only football museum in Nepal.
This Museum was established in December 2006 by a former national player of Nepal Mr. Sundar Thapa. The size of the Museum is not big at present as it just started with the effort of an individual but it has collected considerable amount of football souvenirs including uniforms, footballs and old photographs. We are in the process of acquiring more international uniforms and football souvenirs said Mr. Thapa.
Mr. Namgyal Tsering, president of the Norbulingkha Sports Club, Jwalakhel said that he presented the uniform to the Museum, he feels that it is an honor that the uniform of the Tibetan National Team is displayed alongside uniforms of Nepal and top clubs of the country.
Mr. Thapa while speaking to Phayul said that it is an honor for him to display and know about the Tibetan National Team representing and playing for their country outside their country, he also feels that there shouldn’t be any problem in displaying the uniform in his Museum.
There are over dozen Tibetan sports clubs in Nepal and there are many good Tibetan football players who could find their way into A division clubs like Tashi Tsering la, who has set an example by playing for the Tibetan National Football Association, Nepal National Team and currently playing as the captain of Manang Marshyangdi Club, one of the top A division football clubs in Nepal.
