Dharamshala, September 6: After successfully concluding a 3-day teaching conferred here at the request of Singapore’s Ocean of Wisdom Society, His Holiness the Dalai Lama will visit Spain and Portugal from 9 to 16 September.
On 10 September, His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be received by the Vice President of local Catalonia government on his arrival in Barcelona, Spain. On the same day, His Holiness is will address the Catalonia parliament’s foreign affairs committee.
His Holiness will deliver a public talk on the Art of Happiness at the Olympic Stadium, Barcelona.
His Holiness will be given a welcome reception by the ArchBishop of Barcelona on 11 September. The next day His Holiness will leave Barcelona for a 4-day visit to Portuguese capital Lisbon.
On 11 September, His Holiness will meet Portuguese press and give interviews.
His Holiness will confer a three-day teaching on Shantideva’s A Guide to Boddhisattva’s Way of Life (Chodjug). The teachings begin on 13 September at Lisbon University.
On the same day, His Holiness will visit Portuguese national parliament and address the parliament’s foreign affairs committee.
On 14 September, His Holiness will meet Mr. Jorge Sampaio, former President of Portugal and Mr Douste Blazy, former French foreign minister followed by a reception by the Mayor of Lisbon, City Hall.
His Holiness will continue the 3-day teaching till 15 September, followed by a public talk on the Power of Compassion at Pavilion Atlantico, Lisbon, on 16 September.
His Holiness will leave Portugal for a 4-day visit to Austria and Germany.
