48th Anniversary of Tibetan National Uprising Day

A massive political campaign involving Candle light vigil, Public demonstration and Rally and Public address will be held in the Bangalore city on 9th and 10th March; participated by nearly 1000 Tibetans converging from Bangalore, Mysore, Bylakuppe, Hunsur and Kollegal etc. This huge campaign is organized to commemorate the 48th Tibetan National Uprising Day scheduled on the 10th March 2007. Besides these, the two day long campaign, will also involve press conferences, distribution of leaflets on Tibetan issue, poster sticking and slogan raising etc. A memorandum will also be submitted to His Excellency the Governor of the Karnataka Government to be forwarded to the Office of Prime Minister and President of India.

After a Press briefing Conference at 11 am at the Press Club of the City, a Candle Light Vigil will be held at Gandhi Park, opposite to Cubbon Park at around 6 pm on the 9th March. The Vigil will also be participated by over 150 Tibetan monks of Sera Monastery of Bylakuppe, who are on a weeklong Peace March for a Free Tibet from Mysore to Bangalore City.

A peaceful procession commencing from ChiklalBagh to the Gandhi Park around 10am. Later a ceremony will be held in the Gandhi Park around 12.30 pm, with Honorable Shri Narendra Babu, Member of Karnataka State Assembly presiding as the Chief Guest. The ceremony will also be attended by other eminent Tibetan and Indian guests from the city.

It is now forty-eight years since that momentous day when the people of Tibet rose up against the Chinese oppression to protect our most precious asset in His Holiness the Dalai Lama from falling into the hands of communist China and to re-assert our right as well as demand for complete independence. On this day of National Uprising, Tibetans the world over remembers the untold sacrifices of our brethrens and pledges to our blood that we shall redeem from the dungeons of hell the glory of our Free Tibet.

The march is primarily organized to highlight the issue of Tibet and the Tibetan Peoples freedom struggle and most importantly the ongoing oppressive and tragic situation unleashed by the red Chinese in Tibet. And also to seek the support of the world to Free Tibet from the clutches of autocratic China.

Tibet will Rise Again…Let there be no mistake. Truth had and Truth will prevail again for TIBET.
