The third day of the “Free Tibet Action Week” brought more volunteers and supporters, in spite of the extreme cold weather alert -18 degrees Celsius with the wind chill -25, came along with hot tea while others came to give moral support for the participants and the organizers. It was very encouraging to see the additional volunteers day after day and the number of participants reached up to 20 today .

The Toronto Tibetan Women’s Association is showing its solidarity to our “Free Tibet Action Week” by bringing lunch to all the participants tomorrow. We were informed by the volunteers participating for the week long that on coming Thursday the breakfast and lunch will be brought by themselves to all the participants. Despite their commitment for the week long participation, they have committed financially to support our campaign a success. We sincerely thank them for their commitment for the right cause of Tibet’s Independence from the Chinese occupation. Every afternoon, the participants were served free coffee from the “Second Cup” owned by Mr. Kelsang Phuntsok la.

Mrs. Tsering Dolma who came all the way from Minnesota is also participating in our week long action program. Mr. Lobsang Dhala who is a youth has showed his determination in regaining Tibet’s freedom by participating in this action week. Gen Thardo, 65, is the most senior participant of the “Free Tibet Action Week”. He has not only inspired us but the other participants and the Tibetan Diaspora by sending out a clear message that it is the responsibility of all the Tibetans to fight for “Rangzen” and that it is not the responsibilities of the youths only.

Everybody chanted prayers all day long and tried to stay as warm as they can. Ms. Karen, a Canadian Tibet supporter, who attends each and every demonstration organized by the Tibetans in Toronto, was with us today and expressed her solidarity and gratitude for Toronto TYC in organizing such a momentous event. Khedup Gyatso from SFT also participated to show his solidarity with us.

Today marked the Independence Day Ghana. Therefore, at the Queen’s Park, the Ghanaians celebrated the day by hoisting their national flag followed by singing national anthem. It was our wish to do the same one day and that our flag will be hoisted shoulder to shoulder with other country’s flag.

The day ended with the announcement of all the donors by Mr. Tenzin Yeshi la and the Chairman, Mr. Phurbu Tsering la expressed his hearty thanks to the participants and the sponsors followed by singing of the Tibetan National Anthem.
