LONDON – Central China Goldfields PLC said it has extended its Tibet exploration agreement with Hubei Chuxiong Minerals Exploration and Development Ltd until June 30.

The company said the De Ming area of about 1,789 square kilometre in Tibet is prospective for porphyry-type copper deposits, with the exploration work having revealed several interesting targets.

‘This is an early stage exploration project with significant potential. This, together with the Nimu Project, gives us exposure to a large tract of land in an under-explored yet very prospective copper belt which hosts some of the largest copper deposits in Asia,’ managing director Jeff Malaihollo said.
