For more than a decade, he has been offering his ‘blood’, sweat and toil for the Tibetan cause. Dr Mahesh Yadav, who was in the city on Sunday, made a portrait of Sardar Patel Vallabh Patel taking blood from his body, at a demonstration organised by students of Tibet studying at M S University (MSU). Yadav, a staunch peace activist and convener of Bhopal-based Mahatma Gandhi Tibet Freedom Movement (MGTFM), has also written 120 letters using blood. He was even attracted China’s reaction, when put under house arrest by police for five days when the Chinese president visited India in November last.
President of Tibetan students at MSU, Tnzin Numdak said, “Even general secretary of Friends for Tibet was also taken into custody for same time period in Dharamshala”. Yadav said, “Why is the prime minister not speaking up when issues really concerned to India are up there. It is irony that instead talking serious business, MPs discusses cricket and other things in Parliament.”
He said his right to democracy was killed when put under house arrest. He has sought details on why he was arrested when he had done nothing wrong during China president visit, under Right To Information Act (RTI) from prime minister’s office (PMO).
Yadav said, “I do not have any reservations against growing Sino-Indo relations but we need not undermine China’s primary ambition to be a world power second to none and especially in Asia region. India could be the only obstacle in its race to achieve complete hegemony in South and Southeast Asia.” He said unless Tibet becomes independent again, imminent threat from China would always cripple India’s security and peace.
He said it is shocking when India showed no apprehension to China’s political and military considerations when it started laying 1,118 km long railway line project in Tibet connecting Gormo and Lhasa. And, even its announcement to divert the mighty Brahmaputra and Kailash-Mansarovar being turned into arm forces base was not being taken seriously. “We cannot be friends with China without betraying the right to self-determination and freedom of Tibetans”, said Yadav.
Since October 1994 Yadav has gone on a blood campaign, made around 400 portraits of leaders, freedom fighters and celebrities for world peace. In 2006, Yadav travelled 47 cities across India to spread peace message and this year too he has made an extensive plan to visit 59 cities. He has written for world peace and humanity and he is still going on with his peace mission.
