Sarnath, December 22 – Thousands of devotees across the globe have made their way to attend the teachings of H.H. The Dalai Lama on the commentary of Boddhicitta (Jangchup Semdrel) by Acharya Nagarjuna at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarnath.

TVA also made its presence to carry out its mission of promoting vegetarianism in this holy land by organizing photo-exhibition of animals being slaughtered for only consumption. There was a free distribution of booklets consisting of powerful speech on vegetarianism by Kyabje Chatral Rinpoche. Audio CDs (including speech of Kyabje Chatral Rinpoche and Ben-za-guru chants), Video CDs (Law of Nature) along with their annual magazine in both Tibetan (Phende Sabon) and English (Semchen) were also available for sale at a reasonable price. Besides, an exclusive sale of T-Shirts (Bodhicitta) which was specially designed for this auspicious event. Their main aim being to create a vegetarian revolution and save the lives of animals from the fear and pain. Resulting in the cessation of brutal slaughtering of these innocent sentient beings on our earth.

With the help from TVA Volunteers of CIHTS at Varanasi, they also initiated a vegetarian food-pack programme. It was heart-rending to see all devotees thronged to devour only vegetarian cuisine, which were being served at every small stall outside the premises of the Institute. Much to their delight!

On the final day of His Holiness teachings, TVA members also headed towards the river Ganges where they released hundreds of fishes to wish and pray for the longevity of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
