Meerut,10 December: Antarashtrya Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Samiti headed by Shri K.B.Bakshi, who is also the National Co-Convener of the Core Group for Tibetan Cause, organised a ceremony at Raghunath Girl’s Post Graduate College Meerut to honour the students who has topped the Tibet related Essay, Quiz and Painting Competition held earlier this year.
Around 300 people comprising of School’s Principals, teachers, prize winner students, Tibetan sweater sellers and local eminent persons attended the function.
Dr N.K. Trikha, National Convener of Core Group for Tibetan Cause was the Chief Guest and Mr Choekyong Wangchuk, Tibetan Parliament Member chaired the function. Other eminent speakers include Dr. D.K. Pal, Co-Convener of Western Uttar Pradesh, Dr S.P.Rastogi, Dr. Savita Nag.
The function commenced with a welcome song by the students followed by Tibetan and Indian National Anthem.
Shri Bakshi ji briefed the activities carried out by ABTSS this year which include screening of Hindi dubbed ‘Compassion in Exile and Cry of Snow Lion’ to 33 institutions of Meerut city.
Mr Choekyong expressed his gratitude towards every Indian for their support towards Tibetan Cause. He also clarified China’s misconception over the issue of Tibet that Genuine Autonomy is not a stepping stone towards Tibet’s Independence and hoped that issue of Tibet will someday be peacefully resolved.
Dr Trikha spoke on the Human Right Violations in Tibet. ‘China will surely fail in their plan of eliminating Tibetan Identity’, he said.
The function concluded with the distribution of Prize certificates and trophies to honour the winner of the competition.
