New Delhi, 26 Nov : The Fast against the visit of Chinese President Hu Jintao and freedom of Tibet by active member of India-Tibet Friendship Society Dr. Raghuvir Singh Kapoor ( Former Counsellor & Socialist Leader) was concluded today with Public Meeting at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi. The meeting was attended by the representative of various social-political organization and different Tibet Support Groups.
Dr.Kappor bagan his fast on 20th November ( the day of arrival of Mr Hu Jintao to India) with the demand of freedom of Tibet and removal of Chinese occupation from Himalayan region of India. He ended his fast by accepting a glass of fruit juice from the representative of Tibetan -in-exile Shri Tenzin Dawa. The Public meeting was addressed by Prof Anand Kumar ( Sociologist, JNU), Prof. Raj Kumar Jain ( Eminent Socialist leader), Shri Surendra Kumar ( Secretary, Gandhi Peace Foundation), Shri Awadhesh Kumar (Journalist), Shri J.P Sharma (Advocate), Shri Raj Pal Baghel( Advocate), Ms Aparajita ( Teacher), Shri Vijay Pratap (Eminent Political Worker), Shri S.S.Nehra ( Former Regional President, Amnesty International)Smt.Rajrani Sharma ( Social Activists) and Dr.Manoj Kumar ( Social Activists & Faculty NISD). All of them has emphasized their commitment towards Save Himalaya Save Tibet.
Representatives of other various Social-Political organization has also joined with India-Tibet Friendship Society to facilitate Dr Raghuvir Singh Kapoor. These organization includes Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Janta Dal, Core Group For Tibetan Cause, Samajwadi Vichar Manch, Samajwadi Jan Parisad, Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam, Samyik Varta, Dalit Mukti Sena, Poorvanchal Kranti Dal, Himalayan Committee For Action on Tibet, Bharat-Tibet Sahyog Manch
