Elista, July 3 : A delegation of the Buddhist association of Kalmykia will not take part in the ongoing World Summit of Religious Leaders in Moscow because the association’s administration is preparing for a possible visit by the Dalai-Lama to the republic, the association’s leader Telo Tulku Rinpoche told Interfax on Monday.
“I have devoted all my time to preparations for a visit to Elista by his Holiness Dalai-Lama XVI, which may take place on July 8-10,” he said.
The official, however, declined to comment on the Moscow summit, saying that he was “analyzing the situation.”
“If I say too much today, it may hamper the upcoming visit. I do not know whether what I say will benefit it or not,” he said.
The July 3-5 religious summit in Moscow involves more than 200 guests from 40 countries.
