Meeting of Indian Tibet support groups in Dharamsala

Representatives of Tibet support groups (TSGs) in India gathered today in Dharamsala for a three-day meeting to review and discuss its activities related to the Tibetan cause. Attended by ten Core Group members for the Tibetan Cause, the umbrella body of the Tibet support groups in India, the meeting will specifically review the activities of various TSGs and to see whether the action plan adopted at its national conference in New Delhi was implemented accordingly. Also on the agenda is to discuss and devise new and efficient ways to successfully mobilise greater support for the Tibetan cause.

Apart from Shri N.K Trikha who is the core group’s national convener and his colleagues Shri K. B Bakshi, Shri K.C Agnihotri, Shri D.K Pal, Shri Surendra Kumar, Sonam Lhundup and several other members, three representatives from the New Delhi-based India Tibet Coordination Office are also attending.

The Kashag – cabinet of the Tibetan government in exile – will host a dinner reception in honour of the TSG core group members. The members of the Tibetan parliament in exile, Assembly of Tibetan People’s Deputies (ATPD), will interact with the Indian supporters at a dinner reception to be hosted tomorrow by ATPD. The Indian supporters of the Tibetan cause will also meet representaives from various Tibetan NGOs and offices.

Although the first day of the meeting is being held at the auditorium of the Tibetan governmnet in exile, the meeting will be in different locations in the next two days . The meeting will conclude on June 11.
