A pre-release exclusive screening of documentary film “Following Kunsel-Saving our past for the future” Directed by Thupten Nyima Chakrishar and produced by Young Tibet pictures, was held at the office of Tibet, New York on Friday the 26th May, 2006.
Following Kunsel tells the story of a 11 year old budding Tibetan artiste, Tenzin Kunsel, and the challenge to preserve the endangered Tibetan culture in a fast paced, multi cultural society like New York City.
Mr. Tashi Wangdi, Representative of His Holiness in America, Mr. Rinchen Dharlo, President, Tibet Fund, Mr. Tsewang Phuntsok, Representative of His Holiness in South America and other officials, Representatives of different Organizations, relatives and friends were present.
An exclusive pre-release DVD was presented to the chief guest, and the first official poster was presented to Kalsang Wangmo, Kunsel’s mother, after the screening Kunsel sang three songs to the already excited gathering.
” This is a fantastic film, it will make us all proud and inspire our next generation” said the chief guest in his closing speech “This film will definitely allay the fear that Tibetan culture will disappear in the melting pot of America”. In appreciation, he presented scarf’s to the Director, Kunsel and others associated with the film.
The film will be released to the public on 6th July.
