Dharamshala,May 26 – The Italian-based Health R&S and E-Heart developed an advanced Italian telemedicine technology and donated it to the Tibetan Delek Hospital, Dharamshala.
At a press conference held this morning at the Lhakpa Tsering Hall of the Department of Information and International Relations, the Italian delegation briefed the media about the use of this technology and how it helps to diagnose heart patients here and transmit the data to heart specialist personnel in Italy for examination on basis of the layout and the received data.
They have named the project as United Italian Mind to the Tibetan Heart.
The Health Department of the Central Tibetan Administration worked in close collaboration with the Health R&S and the E-Heart on installation of the telemedicine at the Tibetan Delek Hospital.
This afternoon they will receive an audience of His Holiness the Dalai Lama during which they will brief His Holiness on the new technology.
The delegation comprising of Dr. Giorgio Noera, President of the Health R&S and member Board of Directors of the E-Heart, Mr. Walter Pasini, Director of the World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre for Tourist Health and Travel Medicine, Mrs. Gaddoni Morena, Director of the Sanitary Structure-Health R&S, Mr. Massimo Moretti, Director of the Development Projects-Health R&S, Mr. Andrew Gargiolo, Director XMedical- Centre for Production of Health R&S and E-Heart, and Mr. Santu Lama Ritar of the Italian Parliamentary Group for Tibet are here to install the telemedicine at the Delek Hospital and to demonstrate its usage.
