New Delhi May 12 – Dreaming Lhasa won the prestigious Audience Prize at the Trento Film Festival, Italy which concluded May 7, 2006. The film festival in Italy that began on April 29 had 50 different films from 24 countries. The films screened at the festival were shortlisted from 276 entries.
Made by the filmmaking couple Tenzing Sonam and Ritu Sarin, the film was shot in the locales of Dharamshala, Dehradun, Delhi, and Jaipur. The film had also been screened at other famous festivals in Toronto, San Francisco and Bangkok.
The “special sections” of the 54th Festival was Tibet and Terraenergia. All fiction films nominated to be screened at the 54th “Trento Film festival – mountains exploration adventure” competed for the Audience Prize consisting in a work of art.
