Kolkata, 21 April – The Husband-Wife Bike Rally from Kolkata-Chandragiri,Orissa undertaken by Tathagata Chakravarty(Coordinator,Fot,Kolkata chapter) and his wife Mrs.Swati Chakravarty(member,Fot) for the release of the 11th Panchen Lama was flagged off today at 10.15 am april 21st from Mahatma Gandhi statue , Mayo road,Kolkata.The event started with the performing of puja and chanting of sacred buddhist mantras conducted by Simik Lama of Karma Gun Monastery, Kolkata.Friends of Tibet members recited long life prayers for His Holiness The 11th Panchen Lama. and sung the national anthems of Tibet and India.The event ended with the flaging off the ride by Simik lama.
The event was well covered by Media as they came in huge numbers.
