Former Chinese diplomat talks about how the CCP pressures Australian officials to not attend NTDTV’s global gala
By Luo Ya
A letter from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to Australian government departments and officials dated December 14, 2005, was recently released, in which the CCP not only slandered the New Tang Dynasty organization, but also requested that Australian officials be prohibited from attending the New Tang Dynasty Chinese New Year Global Gala. The letter was made public and caused an uproar in Australia.
The CCP recently spent a large sum of money for its lunar new year festival in Sydney. The CCP sent over three hundred entertainers to participate in the Chinese New Year’s parade, held literary and art events, and participated at various temple fairs and celebrations held by the Chinese community. All this was done in an attempt to influence and hinder the New Tang Dynasty’s Chinese New Year Global Gala. This reporter interviewed Mr. Chen Yonglin, a former CCP diplomat, now a human rights activist, who defected from the CCP’s evil system.
Whatever the CCP Attacks is Usually Just and Wonderful
Chen Yonglin pointed out that the CCP consulate’s letter to Australia’s governmental departments was an extension of its propaganda to covertly attack the New Tang Dynasty organization and disrupt its smooth preparation of the Chinese New Year Global Gala. It is Chen’s opinion that, since the CCP is accustomed to manipulating and tyrannizing its own people, they can send a letter that will also make the Australian congressmen submit to their whimpers. Actually, most Westerners think that whatever the CCP attacks is usually just and wonderful. The letter issued by the CCP upset the congressmen, therefore, on the contrary, the letter sparked their curiosity. Some of the congressmen who did not originally have time to attend, are making time to attend the New Year’s Global Gala, just to find out what is really going on, and to find out why the Gala is being smeared by the CCP. More often than not, what the CCP does, works just the opposite.
Chen cited an instance that occurred when he was at the consulate. In order to stop the overseas Tibet association from celebrating its own holidays, and to stop the local government from flying Tibet’s snow mountain lion flag, the CCP wrote a letter to Australian government officials requesting that they not fly the flag. Some congressmen replied in writing that they had no plan of flying the flag, but since reading the letter, they are considering flying the Tibetan flag.
The Chinese Consulate’s Letter had no Signature or Official Seal to Facilitate a Later Denial
This is a letter issued by Consul General Pu was without signature or the consul general’s official seal. Chen Yonglin thinks this was intentional, to facilitate a later denial, lest it become evidence of their pressure on a foreign government. This is a frequent technique used by Chinese consulates in many countries. Because of the despicable content in the letter, no one in the consulate was willing to take responsibility, including the consul general. Chen also believes that the letter came directly from the 610 Office in the CCP’s Foreign Affairs Department. In fact, there are few people inside the CCP who are truly devoted to the CCP.
Chen Yonglin indicated that the New Tang Dynasty is independent of the regime, and is courageous in its objective reporting Chinese news, without bowing to CCP censorship, and is truly speaking for mainland China’s common people. The New Tang Dynasty’s Chinese New Year Gala, already in its third year, has been a huge success with overseas Chinese and their host countries. The CCP fears that the New Tang Dynasty will broaden its influence through the Chinese New Year Global Gala. This is detrimental to the effectiveness of its overseas political propaganda efforts. Additionally, the New Tang Dynasty television station’s uncensored coverage is broadcast directly into mainland China, therefore the CCP spares no effort in its attacks against the New Tang Dynasty from all directions and with all means.
Writing these heavy-handed letters to government departments and officials has blatantly exposed the fact that the CCP’s evil backstage manipulation has extended beyond its borders, interfering with Western laws and principles. In effect, it is an open challenge to Western values of democracy and freedom.
In addition to writing letters to governmental officials, the CCP also arranges meetings with government officials to exert further pressure face-to-face, or to spread fabricated stories about New Tang Dynasty media to deceive the public. The CCP has even forced entertainers to cancel their contracts with the Gala. Some Australian entertainers participating in this year’s Gala received threats from the Chinese Consulate that their future visas to perform in China would be rejected, unless they cancel their performance for the Global Gala. It is reported that similar techniques are used by the CCP in other countries where the New Tang Dynasty’s New Year Global Gala is to be held.
The CCP Exports its Ideological “Same Song” in the form of Cultural Exchange to Brainwash Overseas Chinese
According to Chen Yonglin, the CCP has plans to make Australia its strategic partner, therefore, the CCP has carried out infiltration of Australia in all aspects of its society, including politics, economic trade, culture, ideology, etc. Cultural domain is especially important. Since 2000, the CCP has sent about one hundred various sized performing arts groups to Australia every year in the name of cultural exchange. The objective is, through this kind of bombardment, similar to the process of infusing the internal language, slogans, etc., of China into a country. This is done to assimilate Chinese society and influence into Australia’s society, and therefore achieve the purpose of cultural infiltration and propaganda, so that they can eventually exert mind control over the Australian populace.
Chen Yonglin thinks that the CCP disregarded the basic needs of millions who are unemployed, including 800 million farmer’s who live in poverty, but has expended huge sums of money in sending 300 performing groups to participate in the New Year’s parade in Sydney and hold various other large-scale, so called cultural activities in the U.S., Canada, etc. To hold a “Same Song” evening event, the CCP not only mobilized a large number of domestic entertainers, but also invited many singers from Taiwan. Chen Yonglin thinks that their objective is to export the CCP’s evil ideology by making the CCP look good and at the same time influence and disrupt the New Tang Dynasty’s Chinese New Year Global Gala.
Chen also indicated that the CCP’s “Same Song” program has the same essence as the slogans that if there is “No Communist Party, No New China” and “Only the Communist Party can save China.” The CCP not only used the “Same Song” to brainwash Falun Gong practitioners, it also used it to brainwash the Chinese public. The CCP wants to use this present opportunity to brainwash overseas Chinese, broaden its influence, and achieve the purpose of propagating its party culture. Chen Yonglin used an example: Wen Jiabao recently visited France. During his visit, he presented 400 airline tickets to China as a gift to French youth for “cultural exchange” opportunities to study the Communist party’s culture in China. This illustrated that the CCP spares no expense in foreign propaganda.
Chen Yonglin indicated that, all those who participate in the CCP’s propaganda team performing overseas, whether ignorant of the truth or because of the lucrative financial rewards, should all distance themselves from the CCP. Participation in these kinds of activities will greatly influence their future, and is also harmful to their conscience.
Overseas Chinese Need to Read the “Nine Commentaries On the Communist Party”—Listening to Both Sides Makes Things Clear
Chen Yonglin believes that most overseas Chinese are from mainland China, because of that, they actually know that the CCP is evil, but having been mentally conditioned and brainwashed by the CCP for such a long time, and their deep rooted relationships with people in China, they are all filled with fear of the CCP, and thus they intentionally or unintentionally cooperate with the CCP’s overseas propaganda efforts. Some of them cannot distinguish between the party and the nation, thinking that supporting the CCP is patriotic, they do not realize there is an unclear line between the two. He further suggested they all read the “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party,” published by The Epoch Times. It thoroughly reveals the CCP’s evil nature. As the saying goes, “listening to both sides makes things clear,” they will have a new understanding of the CCP after reading it.
The Australian government thinks that by accommodating the CCP politically, it may garner greater economic advantages for Australia. Therefore, the government condones the CCP’s infiltration activities in Australia. Currently, Australia and the CCP are signing a free trade agreement and selling an uranium mine to China. The Australian government effectively has knelt down and bowed to the CCP’s power. This is a shame for the Australian people, and a threat to Australia’s democracy and freedom, which are the foundation of their nation.
