Ladakhi Marchers for Tibet Arrive in Amaravati

Dharamshala January 4 – 59 people from Ladakh have arrived in Amaravati as a part of a peace march that began from Bangalore. The Ladakhis who have used their pilgrimage to Amaravati for a cause say that they aim to draw the world’s attention to the plight of the Tibetan people.

The peace marchers had arrived in Amaravati via Mysore, Hunsur, Bylakupee, Mungod and Vijayawada.

The peace march is a joint initiative of Ladakh Tibet support group and Ladakh Buddhist Association. Talking to VOT in Amaravati, Ladakh Tibet support group’s president Lobsang Khedup said that China must get into dialogue with the representatives of the Dalai Lama for a negotiated solution to the Tibet issue.

“We seek to draw people’s attention to the Tibet issue and resolve it through dialogue between China and Tibet.”

The peace march will resume from Amaravati after the Kalachakra initiation. The Ladakhis will wind up their 20th peace march in Dharamshala.
