Zurich, December 10 – On the occasion of the International Human Rights Day the Tibetan Youth Association in Europe (TYAE) collected more than 700 postcards (see picture) demanding the release of Gedhun Choekyi Nyima, the 11th Panchen Lama of Tibet.

The postcards were addressed to the Chinese Ambassador in Switzerland, Mr. Zhu Bangzao demanding his government should eventually inform the international community about the well-being and whereabouts of Gedhun Choekyi Nyima.

At the end of the action four activists of TYAE presented the postcards in front of the Chinese Consulate General Zurich (see picture). “We will continue pressuring the Chinese officials in Switzerland and their government until Gedhun Choekyi Nyima is free” said an activist. “As a Tibetan youth organization, it is our duty and responsibility to struggle for the rights of all Tibetan political prisoners and especially for the young Panchen Lama, Gedhun Choekyi Nyima”.
