TIBET, December 6 – The potential value of mineral resources prospected in Tibet during the years 2000-2005 is valued at more than 180 billion yuan (US$22.3 billion).
Tibet has rich mineral resources and ranks first in China in terms of output of 13 kinds of minerals including copper, chromium, boron, sulphur, magnesite, corundum and muscovite.
It accounts for over 90 per cent of the country’s total chromium reserve.
