Gonpo Entertainment brought a magnificent concert to Minnesota as a part of the Tibetan Music Festival which has been touring the United States. One of the biggest event of the six music concerts, Minnesota witnessed a huge turnout of people thronging the concert venue. The organisers were pleased with the wonderful response from the public. “Despite the snow fall in the area; people didn’t stop coming to support us and to enjoy the music” says Tenpa Dorjee, the tour coordinator.
The singers who seem tired traveling throughout the states by road are determined to work more due to the public appreciation they receive. “I love the people of Minnesota” said Michael, one of the favourite entertainers of the tour. Despite heavy snowfall, the concert went ahead as scheduled. “The snowfall did affect the crowd but then it was amazing, the hall was almost packed and everyone enjoyed the show. It was really a lovely experience,” he continues.
The next morning, the group made a trip to a nearby Tibetan community at Madison, Wisconsin. Madison has a small Tibetan population. The show was hosted by the Wisconsin Tibetan Association. Almost whole of the community participated in the festival.
“Hopefully there will be one more concert in New York” says Tenpa Dorjee. “We are almost done with the confirmation of a concert at New York. Many people from New York have missed the previous concert due to various reasons. Now this time, we have booked a venue which is closer to the Tibetan community living in the city. We will make it public when everything is confirmed” he continues.
The Tibetan performers will travel to Canada where they will hold a show on 3rd December. Before they leave for Canada they will perform at the University of California, San Diego on November 30. In the last leg of the tour, the music festival will conclude in California with yet another show on December 10 coinciding with the day of conferment of Nobel peace prize on His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
