The Tibetan Parliamentary and Policy Research Centre (TPPRC), based in New Delhi, will be organizing an educational workshop specially designed for school students.
About 60 class XI students would be selected from schools in India and Nepal. 5 open seats have been reserved for Tibetan students studying in Indian Public Schools and 5 for Tibetan children living in the west. Applicants for the open seats must be between the ages of 16 to 18 and must be able to understand Tibetan. Those interested may send in their bio-data to us at tpprc@touchtelindia.net latest by November 30, 2005. Seats will be allotted on a first come first serve basis. Travel and Daily allowance within India will be borne by the organizer.
The programme will be held in Dharamsala from December 19 – 27, 2005. The all-encompassing programme will introduce students to all the offices and departments of Central Tibetan Administration; Non-Governmental Organizations and institutions related to preservation and promotion of Tibetan culture. The programme includes lectures by the Supreme Justice Commissioner, Chairman of Assembly of Tibetan People’s Deputies (ATPD), Kalon Tripa and Heads of all institutions followed by visits to all the above-mentioned offices. This is the first time such a programme is being conducted to develop the students to be a responsible Tibetan citizen.
