Dharamsala, October 24 – A two day seminar on “China’s National Regional Autonomy Law: Theory and practice in Tibet” begins tomorrow at the Gangchen Kyishong Staff Mess. Organized by the Department of Information and International Relations the seminar is expected to create a better understanding of the Chinese law on autonomy. The seminar will be participated by representatives from various non-governmental organizations, officials of the Tibetan exile government and the Tibetan media.
Five resource persons have been invited from abroad including the Tibetan historian Tsering Shakya and legal expert Dr. Lobsang Sangay.
During the two-day rigorous interaction, issues such as China’s regional ethnic autonomy, environment, economy, development, religion, culture and language will be discussed.
The Kalon Tripa Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche and Kalon Lobsang Nyandak, minister for Information and International Relations, will address the inaugural function scheduled to begin tomorrow morning.
