EU Coordination Office, Brussels, October 18 – Today morning a delegation of 11 Tibetan Parliamentarians from Dharamsala arrived in Brussels. The 11-day visit to Europe – study tour – has been organized by TPPRC, New Delhi. The visit to Brussels from 18th-20th is jointly hosted by Bureau du Tibet (EU Coordination Office) and ICT-Europe.
On 20th October the delegation will leave for South Tirol for two days, followed by London and Edinburgh till October 28.
Today afternoon the delegation had a meaningful and hectic schedule in Belgian Parliament. After a lunch in the Parliament hosted by Bureau du Tibet, Mr. Walter Muls, President of Interparliamentary Group for Tibet, gave a briefing on Belgian Federal structure, followed by a tour of the Parliament and concluding with a meeting with 5 Members of the Interparliamentary Group for Tibet and 3 staffs. Mr. Geert Lambert, Vice-President of the Chamber was also present.
There will be meetings with the Tibetan Community, Members of the EP Tibet Intergroup, Mr. Ingo Friedrich, Vice-President of the European Parliament and an educational tour of European Union.
The delegation is accompanied by Representative Tashi Phuntsok, Ms. Tsering Jampa, Director, ICT-Europe and Ms. Tenzin Wangmo Dunchu, Coordinator, EU Coordination Office, Brussels.
