Himalaya Parivar decides series of Tibet Awareness Programme

Himalya Parivar organized its annual working committee meeting at Arya Samaj Mandir, New Delhi on 24, July 2005. Around 150 peoples representing different region of Himalaya residing in Delhi, reprensentatives from Tibet, Nepal, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttranchal, Himachal Pradesh and J&K attended the daylong meeting.

The first session of the meeting started at 10:00am. The Chief guests present in the funtion were Shri. Indresh Kumar, the founder of Himalaya Parivar & Patron of Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch, Mr. Ramesh Chandra Vajpayee, Former Air Chief Marshal, Mr. Choekyong Wangchuk, Coordinator, India Tibet Coordination Office, Dr. Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri, National Co-convener, Core Group for Tibetan Cause & National Convener, Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch and Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, Vice President, Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch.

The function was started with the blessing & prayers by the monks from Drepung Loselling Monsatery and followed by lighting lamp & offering flowers to the potrait of Bharat Mata.

In the keynote address, Shri. Indresh Kumar introduces the basic objectives of the organization to all the new members, which is to protect the natural, physical & cultural environment of Himalayan region from external threat. He strongly expressed for the need of active involvement of Himalayan people residing in Capital city in order to achieve its goal more effectively & efficiently. In addition to that he also highlighted the issues of Tibet and informed member present that the relentless support for the cause of Tibet is one of its basic objectives.

The second session was mainly address by Mr. Bhupendra Khansal, National General Secretary of Himalaya Parivar, Mr. Choekyong Wangchuk and Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, where it was decided that in the coming months series of Tibet awareness programs like Seminars, workshops and public gathering will be organized in different parts of Delhi.

Mr. Namgyal Tsewang of ITCO represented there and was also in the organizing committee distributed a large numbers of Tibet related Hindi literatures and calendars among the participants.
