The 5th Annual North America Chapters (NATYC) of Tibetan Youth Congress will be held for two days from 30th – 31st July, 2005 at Masaryk Cowan Community Center, 2 Cowan Ave, Toronto.
Representatives from all over North America are attending for the conference. For last year, NATYCC was held at New York, U.S.A for which representatives from 7 regional chapters from all over North America attended.
For this years conference, issues ranging from basic human rights to the restoration of independence will be discussed in details. The conference will also focus on measures to strengthen the freedom struggle and reassert the stance of the Tibetan Youth Congress. Pertinent cases relating to the plight of the Tibetan political prisoners and the continued involuntary disappearance of the XI Panchen Lama, Gedhun Choekyi Nyima and other well known religious heads who are currently in the clutches of the Chinese government will also be the highlight of the discussion. The conference will highlight on the campaigns and strategies in order to restore human rights of the Tibetan people in Tibet and regain the Independence of Tibet.
The Tibetan Youth Congress is the largest Tibetan non-governmental organisation based in Dharamsala, India. It has more than 30,000 members all over the world including Asia, Europe, Canada and the United States and strives for the restoration of Independence for Tibet.
