Fresh protests in Rebkong

After yesterday’s self-immolations and protests in Ngaba, fresh public demonstrations are being reported from Rebkong in the tradition Tibetan province of Amdo, north- eastern Tibet.

China preventing world leaders from meeting the Dalai Lama says US report

China has been accused of “strenuously” lobbying world leaders to prevent meetings with the exiled Tibetan leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The findings were spelt out in a report titled “U.S.-China Relations: Policy Issues” released earlier this month by the Congressional Research Service.

Sarah College commemorates its 14th anniversary

The College for Higher Tibetan Studies at Sarah, near the Tibetan exile headquarters of Dharamshala, today commemorated its 14th anniversary. Kalon Tripa Dr Lobsang Sangay was the chief guest at the function attended by the entire students and staff of the College.
