Tibetans gear up for major political campaigns
Exile Tibetans are gearing up for major political campaigns in the coming weeks in light of the ongoing crisis inside Tibet. Leading from the front, the Dharamshala based Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile has set up a five-member committee of parliamentarians to pilot an international campaign to highlight Tibet’s deteriorating human rights situation.
Tibetan filmmaker to debut at Cannes film festival
A Tibetan filmmaker will debut at the world’s most prestigious film festival, the annual Cannes Film Festival. Tsering Tashi Gyalthang’s short film “Turtle Soup” will be screened among the top 20 films at the 65th Cannes film festival’s Short Film Corner (May 16-27).
