Tibetan National Flag Flies High over St. John’s, Newfoundland
Eight years after he provoked an international incident by raising the Tibetan National Flag at City Hall, St. John’s Mayor Andy Wells will fly it again next month when the Dalai Lama visits Canada. The Dalai Lama is visiting Ottawa Oct. 28 at the invitation of the Parliamentary Friends of Tibet, an all-party group of senators and MPs. The exiled Tibetan leader will also give a public address, which Wells will attend, and meet with Prime Minister Stephen Harper.(Phayul)
