European Parliament Supports Non-Violent Solution for Tibet
On December 14, Mr. Thomas Mann, MEP, announced the re-establishment of the European Parliament’s Intergroup for Tibet after gaining the support of 120 MEPs and three of the party groups in the new parliament.

Xinhuanet reports that Yang Chuangtang, who had become governor of Qinghai province in early 2004, has now been appointed Party Secretary of the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), the most powerful position in the province.
