Tibetans celebrate New Year in a traditional way
The Tibetan year of the Wood-Monkey, 2131, began here on Saturday with the beginning of the Losar (Tibetan New Year). The Tibetans all across the world celebrate the first seven days of Losar (New Year) as times for thanksgiving, homecoming and prayer.

China jails Tibetan monk on return from India
A Tibetan monk who returned home from India to visit his ailing mother was arrested by the authorities for taking part in peace marches there, and sentenced to five years in a Chinese prison, RFA’s Tibetan service reports.
